The San Francisco LBE Cooperative Organizing Committee stands with Black communities during this time of national reckoning over police brutality and racism directed against Black people. We mourn the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and countless other Black people who have been murdered because of their race. The Organizing Committee wholeheartedly affirms that Black life matters and that anti-Black racism must be eliminated.
Public contracting is a unique opportunity to redress systemic inequality and the Organizing Committee is dedicated to forming an organization that will contribute to the transformation of our society through economic justice. While the Cooperative will be open to all San Francisco LBEs, the Organizing Committee is committed to building an institution that will center the needs and provide material benefits to those who continue to face discrimination in public contracting, especially Minority- and Women-owned businesses.
