It is actually a specific goal of the U.N. GHS committee to reduce the need for animal testing. The GHS health and environmental testing procedures are test method neutral, meaning they allow different approaches to gathering needed information, and any test data already collected for chemicals is accepted by the GHS, thus eliminating any duplicated testing and reducing the need for test animals.
