I love this, but if he was such a great swordsman that relied much more on his speed and technique and less worried about defense, I would imagine Ser Arthur Dayne would have less bulky armor on.
There are people that have a problem with Arthur Dayne dual-wielding two full longswords, saying that wouldn't be realistic. Arthur Dayne's swordsmanship is supposed to be superhuman, hence why he wields Dawn.
It's not impossible to dual wield two longswords, it's just that only a true master swordsman would be able to do it without getting his blades tangled up. Seeing as Dayne displays sword-spinning techniques that resemble water dancing, I prefer to think that he traveled throughout the known world learning many different kinds of swordplay in the hopes that one day he would be worthy to wield Dawn. For me, seeing Arthur Dayne wield two longswords so well would mark him out as a truly gifted swordsman, not an unrealistic hack.
After comin' back from the latest season, this makes you wonder. How did Rhaegar win against Arthur Dayne ? Look at this guy, he's like a midweight being wielding two swords and seems to have no trouble takin' on 5 at once. Yet Rhaegar looks not that beefy or strong figured as Arthur. I really don't see how Rhaegar won against Arthur, except by outsmartin' him somehow or being very technical.
Knowing Arthur was his idol, it breaks my soul? to see Ned's faces of sadness when he dies!! Damn! Well, at least dear Lord Stark honoured the Sword of the Morning's memory by returning his precious sword to his family ("Histories and Lore" season six)..
Fucking ser gerold was older than Arthur dayne and was the Lord commander of the kingsguard!! It would've been easier for D&D to state that it was Arthur dayne and oswell whent.
alternate story , jon was raised by sir arthur dayne . Jon ambition was to take the iron throne by himself with his swordskills and influence as a heir to the iron throne .
You can't really blame Ned for the way he achieved this victory. He didn't plan it that way, didn't ask for it, it just happened. He should just have admitted it probably. But well, he brought more men and he won thanks to that. Technically speaking he defeated Dayne, details are not important.
I think that both Rhaegar and Arthur knew that they were in a suicide mission and they were going to die at the Trident and the Tower of Joy, respectively, so the only way to perpetuate the Targaryen bloodline was leaving the kid to the only knight on the enemy side that could be really trusted, Ned.
Watching Arthur Dayne fight is like watching a game of chess. He knocks one guy out of balance, turns around and deflects the next volley of sword strokes, then turns around again, slicing open the guy's throat without missing a step. He sets his opponents up for his future moves. The fact that he's able to play out the battle while dual-wielding marks him out as nearly unstoppable in single combat.
Hang on a Sec! We start the scene with him shoving Dawn into the dirt, the most famous sword in the world thrust into the ground like it's a flipping tent peg, Seriously?! That's how you treat your legendary ancestral sword? ….and then pulls out 2 more swords? How many flipping swords does he have? Not to mention that theyve made Arthur Dayne, the legendary knight, famous for inheriting 1 particular said sword, that is kinda made a big deal out of in the world of Ice and fire, a dual wielding Knight, that didn't use said flipping sword in the one scene he features in!
Looks like somebody upgraded there strength and dexterity skills, must've taken alot of souls and FP. Man he destroyed them gangers but it was always the scum baggy backstabber.
the smugness of some people who read the books just because they happen to know something you don't and their endless attempt to spoil events for you and remind you that they saw things coming just to assert their knowledge, contrasted with the kindness of others who pretend not to know just to let you enjoy the experience, makes this show a great way to separate good people from assholes

good hollywood fight but they all fight like retards who have never picked up a sword before.
Why do people say this proves Ned is full of shit?

Is the guy who plays the Three-Eyed Raven the same guy who does the voice for Esbern?

Ser Gerold ate shit pretty quick for the Lord Commander

2:42 1 vs 4 ?Rly? So fair.
5:53 Bran is definitely the Nightking this scene say everything , or its a fake plot from the producers.
"I've heard the story a thousand times", and oh yeah he didn't die here so obviously he didn't lose.
"Ill just stand here bleeding to death… NBD"
Why are movie armourers the shittier smiths ever known to Man?
One of the worst fight scenes in all of the history of cinema.
Said no one ever.
alternate story , jon was raised by sir arthur dayne . Jon ambition was to take the iron throne by himself with his swordskills and influence as a heir to the iron throne .
We can officially call this the only time in media history where they didn't just go 1 at a time for fighting
Don't ever wish your enemy "good fortune for the wars to come"
is this barney from how i met your mother?
The experience points they got from this fight must have been through the roof.

noh
Funny how this scene was written In the first book back when we didn't know who was who and why the tower mattered.
5:23 OMFG Meera, Meera!!!! Gues what, yo papa is a damn coward and stabbed ser Artur Dayne in the back!!!!
Ser Arthur Dayn is basically the Darth Maul of Westeros
Arthur actually protect Jon snow ??
Needs lightsaber effects.
They were 7 against 3
I think that both Rhaegar and Arthur knew that they were in a suicide mission and they were going to die at the Trident and the Tower of Joy, respectively, so the only way to perpetuate the Targaryen bloodline was leaving the kid to the only knight on the enemy side that could be really trusted, Ned.
I searched up "nowy tends"
This was the first result
If Arthur Dayne had black skin, white hair, and his swords were scimitars, I'd scream like a fangirl.

this was like the may-mac of Westeros
It would be better if Ser Arthur were using his Albor instead of two swords
I love this so much. A glimpse into the past of one of the most epic fights of all time with the greatest swordsman the world has ever seen.

Reed a bitch
Is Ned using Ice in this battle? The sword looks the same but it looks way to small for Ice.
Karma when a soldier stabbed Ned from behind during his fight with Jaime. I bet he thought of this day when it happened to him.
A lesson to learn: Always finish your opponents properly. Or end them rightly should I say …

Spain! Tower of Zafra
why isn't anyone talking about how Ned was able to feel a presence?
