I never understood why they dropped the lines to begin with. it follows the original paths I recall as a kid. the old rail car tracks are mostly intact in areas buried in asphalt. obviously modern requirements they'd need to be redone and rest added where removed. once all them tracks in downtown el paso connected to the southern pacific lines. I remember seeing a freight train go through there on Stanton into the warehouses and street cars had to wait. good to see a old thing back but why they let it go to begin with I never figured it out.
