great shit i came here to learn and i was also entertained
I'm glad to see that you screw the screws on the peak and not the flats
too much detail for a first-timer to try! And, you don't give any costs which we all are looking for.
Hi, man! Love your channel! I’m DIY-dieselmechanic and DIY-carpenter, so your videos gives me a lot of good input! Oh, and they’re really entertaining as well!
You state in this video (if I’m not miss understanding something) that you don’t have roofs that lasts longer that 15 years. Is that right? I believe Norway (oh, btw, I’m Kai, from Norway) and Canada has very much the same climate (and your metric, thank god!) and we have roofs that lasts 40+ years. What’s your Canadian ‘standard-house-roof’ made of? Shingles or steel-roofs like in this video?
very good video
Sema…?
Many good points. Thank You. PB43
only a genius can do something complicated and make it look so easy….
I have learned more from this video than about the other two dozen videos I watched before this. Great video. Thank you so much.
Geniune question, on a tall steep roof like this, how to you not fall off? Want the lifetime of metal but I can fathom walking on shingles without slipping, but not metal
Holy driving skills
Great tips for my next project!
Excellent video. Thank you.
Most of the industry never mentions you are supposed to change the screws every 10 years. The washers deteriorate.I have learned this the hard way.Have already replaced a roof with shingles.Screws were rusted and replacements wouldn’t tighten not even a #12.
Ok so you are very amazing, buuuuuuuttttt what if I need help with something you haven`t covered? If you even read this, i`m so not screwed/ screwed right meow…..
Great video! Plus some humor…2 thumbs up!
Do you do surgery on yourself, too?
what about the vally
You need your own tv show. This is WAY better and more informative than anything I’ve seen in a long time. ?
Thanks Rich. Roofing the house in the spring and I was arguing with myself “do it yourself/eff-it just pay someone”. You convinced me. Thanks. Tape Boss is a huge time saver BTW. Saves me many steps.
Cool video, this is something I've been thinking of doing.
I gotta say I’m pretty damn impressed at how much you know about this I’ve been a roofer for a long time and I can say I agree with 98% of what you said the only thing I didn’t agree with was that they defiantly have a lot of roofing options that last longer than 15 years but then your getting into expensive territory and also we always put screws next to the rib so when you look down it you can’t see any screws but where I live we don’t get a lot of snow it’s about 1-2 months a year but we also have about a 90° weather change
ugh! fastening through the peak
I love steel roofs. Lasts a lifetime with virtually zero maintenance.
you know you canucks didnt actually go to the moon you just played the guy in the movie lol
Good job brother. ANother useful video
did you talk about condensation underneath the metal?
The shingles are trash so he puts new metal over the trash. Fail
You are amazing man. Don't stop what you do.
Best metal roof training on Youtube. Got my sub. Doing my first roof (4.5 slope on a 10 x 12 shed), and this vid saved my ass!
NICE
Never screw on ribs
I throughly enjoy your videos. There’s lots of good advice and tips. Just curious why you don’t screw the steel down right down on the shingles? That’s what we done on our house and I’ve seen others do it too. I personally think that this new junk steel needs all the support under it that it can get.
Have you ever done a, “hidden hardware metal roof”?
What is the car/truck behind you?
About 1950?
Thanks.
Dude you know a lot of details about metal roofing, I am assuming you used to do this for a living?
Great video as usual Rich… LOL gotta love the cheap Dutch saying. I can say I am a cheap dutch also as I am a quarter dutch lol .. Goedkoop is soms goed 🙂
Rich I really like like the design of the buildings on your pops property. The dormers really make the building, and the color scheme is right on. Also on an unrelated note. It's pretty cool you're a cat person. Wé wé pussy kitty!
